PALMALI’s Flagship Named After Heydar Aliyev

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / On 14 November the company Palmali launched a 'Suetsmax' tanker which filled up the general dead-weight capacity of the company's fleet, a source stated in the company. The vessel was named after Azerbaijan's Nationwide Leader, Heydar Aliyev.

The tanker is 274m in length and 50m wide. The vessel's draught is 17m. 'Heydar Aliyev' is one of the recent generations of 'Suetsmax' tankers established in South Korea. The cost of the vessel was $96mln.

The tanker is capable of transporting oil and heavy oil products in the volume of up to 165,000 tons with unlimited sail. The key advantage of the new tanker is that its technical characteristics decrease the cost of transportations although increasing the carrying capacity of the vessel. The key lines of such vessels begin from the ports of the Black and Mediterranean Seas to the ports of USA and South-Eastern Asia.

One more 'Suetsmax' tanker is planned to be launched on 20 November in honor of the well-known ophthalmologist, public and scientific figure, Academician, Zarifa Aliyeva. Next year Palmali will launch six more tankers of this class. The cost of this project is $780mln.
