Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Khalilova /The Azerbaijani Bank Association (ABA) is planning to hold a meeting on 21 November in order to consider contacts with foreign bank structures, Farhad Aliyev, ABA's executive director said.
According to Aliyev, the confederation gave its preliminary agreement and documents submitted by ABA have been approved, however, the issue concerning joining the European Confederation must be ratified during the meeting of founders.
" ABA members may give their approval through electron poll," Aliyev said.
Membership to the European Organization enables improvement of cooperation with banking associations of Europe, as well as to gain more information, which is necessary in the globalization process.
The ABA will join the International Coordinating Council of banking associations of CIS member-countries, Central and East Europe to which it has submitted an official appeal. The decision to join the organization was made during the meeting on 7 July.
