Low-quality Glazed Cheese Curds to be Removed from Food Stores in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr U. Ismayilova / Checks in food stores will begin in Azerbaijan on 22 November in order to reveal whether low-quality glazed cheese curds made in Russia are on sale, Mansim Babayev, the senior advisor of the State Control over Standards and Quality attached to the Azerbaijani State Standardization Agency said on 22 November.

"The head of the state service Ramiz Hasanov instructed his employees to treat the issue in order to remove the low-quality glazed cheese curds from food stores in Azerbaijan," Babayev said.

According to the senior advisor, employees of the State Standardization Agency will test food samples in the food-stores where the glazed cheese curds are sold. These checks have resulted from dangerously unhealthy glazed cheese curds being discovered last week by the Russian National Association for Genetic Security.

According to Babayev, the Agency is cooperating with the Russian National Association for Genetic Security. After the Russian Association publicizes the producers of the law-quality products, the Agency will check the products imported to Azerbaijan.

"Once reports on the presence of harmful elements in the glazed cheese curds have been proved, their importation to Azerbaijan will be prohibited," Babayev said.
