( Worldcarfans ) - Introduced this week at the Arizona International Auto Show is a new limited edition Shelby GT, co-designed by Shelby, Ford, and auction house Barrett-Jackson. The 2008 Barrett-Jackson Shelby GT will be limited to 100 units, including both coupe and convertible models.
Included is Ford's racing package with 319 horsepower and 330 ft-lb of torque. Paired with that is a five-speed manual with a Hurst short-throw shifter. An automatic transmissions is available.
The specialized limited edition comes in a black exterior, with "Barrett-Jackson" red stripes across the sides and the LeMans hood, and with black, 18-inch wheels. There are several pieces of Shelby and Barrett-Jackson badges around the car as well. Barrett-Jackson is one of the top auction houses for specialty and collector cars.
Only Ford dealers in Arizona will be selling the car, with a base price of $38,980. Of that, $250 goes to the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation.
