New Railway Route Mineral Waters-Baku to be Opened

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / On 2 December, the Russian North Caucasus Railway will put into operation an international route from Mineral Waters to Baku which will run once a day, the PR of the North Caucasus Railway reported.

The new route will enable passengers to travel to Azerbaijan directly without changing trains, as was previously done in the 80s of the 20th Century. Trains will run via Russian Stavropol Territory, Dagestan, Chechnya, Kabardino-Balkariya and North Ossetia.

The train will leave Mineral Waters railway station at 7.26am, passing Makhachkala at 7.00 pm and will arrive in Baku at 8.55am. On the same day the train will depart at 7.10pm, passing Makhachkala at 7.53am and will arrive in Mineral Waters at 8.40pm.

Initially the train will consist of 8 carriages, but this is expected to be increased to 15.
