Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. U.Ismaylova / The Azerbaijani State Agency on Standardization, Metrology and Patent suspended functioning of two companies-manufacturers of construction materials in 2007, stated a specialist of the Agency Teheran Iskandarov.
Functioning of AKA and Exploitation management 2 companies were suspended due to collapse of building in Baku.
A building which was under construction by Mutaffakir company collapsed on 28 August at 17:00 hours. The head of the company, Askar Aliyev, was arrested for contravening Article 222 (violation of security rules in construction work) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. The death toll has reached 25. Use of low-quality concrete and violation of security rules caused the collapse of the building.
Exploitation management 2 has already restored operation.
AKA appealed to the Agency to hold repeated checks.
