Economic Experts Positively Assess Dimitry Medvedev’s Possible Election as the President of Russia
Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend A.Badalova / Dimitry Medvedev's possible election as the President of Russia will positively affect the economy of the Country, the Russian analysts said. According to the analysts questioned by Trend , Medvedev will continue the political way which was started before him.
The First Vice Prime Minister of Russian Federation, Dimitry Medvedev, will nominate for presidency in the Country. Four political parties of Russia, United Russian Party, Justice Russia Party, Agrarian Party and Citizen Power Party, put forward Dimitry Medvedev's candidature for presidency.
The economist of the analytic department of ATON Broker investment company, Vladimir Osakovski, positively assesses Medvedev's coming to power. According to him, if he is elected as the President, the economic reforms started by the current President, Vladimir Putin, will be completed. He said that the key changes will take place with regards to the energy, banking sector, as well as special attention will be paid to the gas sector.
"Historically Medvedev was engaged in liberalizing Gazprom. His contribution is enough considerable," he said.
In June 2000 Medvedev became the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gazprom JSC and in April 2001, he headed the working group on liberalization of the market of company's shares.
According to the analyst of Renaissance Capital Yekatrena Malofeva, from the point of view of economic policy, the way which was observed up to date will be continuing.
"However, unlike Putin, Medvedev will gave key support to the social investments, health," the analyst said.
"As Medvedev has large work experience in oil and gas sphere, it is possible to expect new regulation here," she added.
According to the chief economist of Alfa Bank, Natali Orlova, Medvedev is more inclined to the economic policy that political situation.
"This man who will stand ready to make structure changes in Russia will not pay attention to the economy," she said.
Generally according to her, the news of Dimitry Medvedev's candidature for presidency positively affects the market.
According to analyst of the investment company Antanta Kapital, Maxim Osadchiev, the considerable transition to the economy due to Dimitry Medvedev's possible election as the President of Russia will not take place.
