Azerbaijan and Egypt Working on Draft Agreements for Energy Cooperation

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S Agayeva / On 25 Dec, the experts of the Governments of Azerbaijan and Egypt in Baku, launched the work on the new draft agreements for the energy cooperation between the two countries. The documents cover the different spheres of the bilateral trade and economic cooperation, the Egyptian embassy in Baku stated.

Yusif Ahmad al-Sharkavi, the Egyptian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, stated earlier that the draft agreements on the cooperation are in the areas of the customs, banking and the other sectors. The documents will be signed during the third meeting of the intergovernmental joint commission on the economic, technical and scientific cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt, to be held Baku from 27to30 Dec.

A delegation led by Faiz Abu al-Naja, the Egyptian Minister for the International Cooperation Minister and the co-chair of the commission, will visit Azerbaijan to attend the meeting. It was planned to hold in Baku, the several meetings of the delegation comprising the officials of the different Ministries and the state bodies of Egypt.

Heydar Babayev, the Azerbaijani Minister for Economic Development, is the co-char of the commission. During the same period, Baku will host an Azerbaijan-Egypt business forum.
