Kuwaiti logistics company Agility has expanded its operations in Jordan with a new warehouse in the Queen Alia International Airport Free Zone.

The 1,000-square metre facility will serve companies looking to penetrate the Jordan market but do not have offices in the country, Agility said.

The company recently announced plans to expand its logistics operations across Jordan, and is working on a number of large-scale projects which include Aqaba Logistics Village and the King Hussain International Airport and Cargo Terminal in Aqaba.

With a capacity of up to 600 pallet positions, the new facility is also part of Agility's efforts to boost its presence in Jordan. The company has won huge contracts from the US military for providing logistics services in the region.

"The warehouse at Queen Alia International Airport is part of our overall vision for Jordan, which is to introduce innovative and reliable supply chain solutions," said Elias Monem, the company's chief executive officer for the Middle East and Africa.

"This new facility opens up an entirely new avenue of trade to companies who want to reach global consumers while keeping their overheads low," he said.

The new free zone warehouse uses the modern Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) technology to link up with Agility's larger Aqaba facility. ( Gulf )
