A Practical Flying Car With Foldable Rotor

( Mobile ) - Click to ZoomI'm glad that I'm a freelance writer, because it means that I can avoid the daily commute and the rush hour traffic that accompanies that commute. Even so, driving around town can be a bit of chore, especially if you run into some unexpected traffic. Why not fly over those cars and skip traffic altogether?

A team of experts have designed the Personal Air and Land Vehicle (PAL-V) that can operate both on the land and in the air, thanks to foldable helicopter components hidden in the roof and rear. With the rotor, propeller and tail section extended, this flying car can soar at speeds up to 120mph. While driving like a regular three-wheeled car on land, the PAL-V approaches speeds up to 125mph. And it can do the 0-60mph in 5 seconds.

It's a single-passenger vehicle and the inventors are saying that it "would cost little more than an executive saloon car."
