Around 640,000 New Jobs Opened in Azerbaijan for Latest four Years

Azerbaijan, Baku, 12 January / Trend / Around 640,000 new jobs have been opened in Azerbaijan for latest four years, Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani President, said during the consultation of the Cabinet of Ministers, dedicated to the sociao-economic development of the state in 2007 and plans for 2008.

According to Aliyev, 460,000 jobs are permanent. In 2007 about 105,000 out of 145,000 new opened jobs are permanent.

"Around 1,200 new schools have been constructed in the country for the latest four years," the President said. Today 29 computers fell on every 1,000 pupils.

The President said that 2007 was an important year from the point of view of implementation of the oil and gas projects. The transportation of the natural gas through the South-Caucasus gas pipeline have been started, as well as production of hydrocarbon on the Shah Daniz field have also been increased.

"The gas has been supplied to new settlements and regions of the country. The process will be continued in 2008. The Azerbaijani State would satisfy the country gas demand first of all," the President said.
