Palmali Group of Companies Puts Second Tanker of Suetsmax Class to Use

Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 Jnauary / Trend / The group of companies Palmali put its new Suetsmax class tanker named Zarifa Aliyeva to use. The tanker's first voyage carrying oil products is from Iran to Turkey. The next voyage will be to Algeria.

The tanker was constructed in South Korea in 2003. The length of the tanker is 274m, width - 50m, immersion - 18m and deadweight - 165,000 tons. The cost of the tanker was $96mln.

Such tankers are used by bigger oil companies. The route of the tankers is from the United States to South-East Asian ports. The tankers transport cargo from the Persian gulf and East Africa to any country.

Palmali posesses two tankers of the class. One of the tankers is used to transport Azerbaijani oil by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) from the Turkish Ceyhan port.

Palmali mainly specializes in the transportation of oil products (petrol, gasoline, vacuum gasoline, stove fuel, and kerosene), crude oil, food, and industrial lubricants. Furthermore, the company has its own dry cargo fleet, which is used for the transportation of all types of dry cargo.
