( Worldcarfans ) - Ford has made a special, one-of-a-kind Mustang GT500KR with the new glassroof especially for the annual Barrett-Jackson auction in October.
"It's the ultimate platform for selling the world's most remarkable cars, and we've created a unique GT500KR just for the occasion." said Robert Parker, Ford car marketing manager.
The 540 hp special edition GT500KR went into production on January 11, Carroll Shelby's birthday, in Las Vegas. The new glass roof will be the third roof option for the V6 Mustang range, and on this unique black-on-black GT500KR, the racing stripes are tinted onto the glass.
"Barrett-Jackson will be a rare opportunity for one lucky bidder to own a Shelby GT500KR with a glass roof, a car no one else can even buy," said Carroll Shelby.
Other Mustangs on auction will be Patrick Dempsey's No. 156 Ford Mustang FR500C, Carroll Shelby's 1969 GT500 convertible and Mike Shelby's (Carroll's son) 1967 GT500 amongst others.
