Growth Rate of GDP Reaches 25% in Azerbaijan in 2007

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend I.Khalilova / The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Azerbaijan increased by 25% in January to December as compared to similar period of 2006, the Azerbaijani State Committee on Statistic said. At current prices GDP made up AZN 25.228mln as of 2007. The GDP volume comprised AZN 2,980.9 per capita, with an increase of 23.6%.

Last year the volume of industrial production made up AZN 36.9mln in all spheres of economy and services.

The share of production in GDP of the country grew by 29.9% as compared to similar period of 2006 and comprised 72.5% (AZN 18.293mln). The value added cost in service sphere increased by 12.5% and specific weight in GDP was 20.2% in 2007.

Net taxes from production and import comprised 7.3% in GDP.

Nearly AZN 14.926mln worth of GDP was produced in industry in this period, comprising 59.2% of the total GDP, AZN 1.564.5mln of the value added cost was produced in hunting sector and agriculture (6.2%), AZN 1.802.4mln in the construction sector (7.1%), AZN 1.054.8mln (4.2%) in transport, AZN 470.6mln (1.9%) in communications, AZN 1.325.6mln (5.2%) in wholesale and retail trade, automobile sphere, household wares and services on repairing of objects of personal use, AZN 159mln (0.6%) in restaurants and hotel sector, AZN 2.084.6mln (8.3%) in social services
