Outbreak of African Virus Discovered in   Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, 29 January / Trend / For the first time, an outbreak of the African virus was discovered amongst pigs in Nij village of Azerbaijan's district of Gabala on 28 January, the State Veterinary Service of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Agriculture reported.

Quarantine was immediately enforced in the village to alleviate and prevent the spread of the virus, the same source stated. The State Service reported that the African virus is now under control.

In 2007 the African virus was discovered in Georgia and Armenia.
