Plant on Glucose Production to be Built in Azerbaijan is Unique in Caucasus

Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 January / corr. Trend E. Guliyev/ The English company CRC plans to put into operation a plant on glucose production in Azerbaijan in 2009. The plant will be the only one of its kind in the Caucasus and the second to Kazakhstan in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), said Vagif Maharramov, an employee of Kenan Inshaat, the contracting company on the construction of the plant.

Maharramli did not divulge the cost of the project as construction began two days ago and several other projected works have not been completed yet. Some 300 permanent jobs will be created in the plant which will cover an area of 3 hectares. The equipment of the plant is estimated to produce 80 tons per day and will be imported from Turkey and Germany. The maize that will be supplied by the neighboring regions of the country will be used as a raw material. The plant will produce glucose which will be used for medical and food industry purposes.
