Azerbaijan Coordinates Negotiation Protocols with 4 WTO Countries for Signing

Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 January / Trend corr I. Khalilova / The Azerbaijani Government coordinated the protocols on completion of bilateral negotiations within the framework of entering the World Trade Organization (WTO) for signing with four counties - Georgia, Oman, Moldova, and the United Arab Emirates, the Azerbaijani Deputy Economic Development Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said.

"We offered via out Representation at WTO to consider possibility of signing these bilateral protocols in Geneva at the beginning of March," he said.

"The bilateral negotiations may include the United States, the European Union, the South Korea, Japan and other interested countries, but there are yet not exact list," he said.

Updated version of bound-tariffs, i.e. the proposals on maximal customs tariffs for entering the Azerbaijani goods and services market, as well as the proposals on approximation of the legislation in accordance with the WTO requirements, on access to the country's banking, insurance, telecommunications, and energy markets, were to be submitted for continuation of the negotiations.

For the time being, the negotiations with Oman, Georgia, Moldova, Turkey, and OAE have been competed, and the negotiation protocol has been concluded only with Turkey.
