Azerbaijan, Baku, 20 February / corr Trend S.Aliyev / Arif Asgarov, the head of the Azerbaijan State Railway (ASR), met with several employees at the Balajari depot, who went on strike on 15 February demanding an increase in their salary, the Balajari deport said on 20 February.
During the meeting a decision was made to increase their salaries. "Now their pay rise and when it will be implemented is being studied," the same source said. The employees did not continue striking. Normal work routines have been reinstated.
The monthly salary of an engine driver is currently AZN 200 and ordinary employees AZN 58. All ASR employees demanded that their pay be doubled.
