Ten New Carriages to be Brought from Russia

Azerbaijan, Baku, 3 April / Trend corr. E.Ismaylov / Ten new carriages for Baku Subway will be delivered in the end of April. The delivery of ten new carriages will enable to decrease temporary spaces in train's movement. The delivery process will be implemented in three parts, Elbrus Muradov, the Chief Engineer of Subway, stated on 3 April.

"The second part (10 carriages) will be implemented in November. The rest of the 16 carriages will be delivered in December," Muradov said.

The delivery of carriages will be implemented within the framework of the contract with the Russian Metrovagonmash OJSC, signed in March.

Previously, 25 underground carriages were delivered to Azerbaijan in 2007.

Metrovagonmash OJSC has been supplying equipment for Baku Subway for past 30 years.
