Azerbaijan, Baku, 12 April / corr. Trend I. Khalilova/ In February, the deposits in Azerbaijani banks increased by 16.1%, the National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA) said.
According to NBA, as of 1 March, the total volume of bank deposits and deposits of legal entities and physical persons made up AZN36. 298.000mln against AZN31. 837.0.000 in January and AZN20.650.100mln in March 2007. Some16.810.200 of this volume accounts for manat and the remaining part for the other currencies. In February, the rise in deposits in manat totaled to 6.9%.
In February, the deposits of physical persons increased by 4.3% with the rise in deposits of legal entities by 27%. In the course of year, the rise in the deposits of individual clients made up 85.1% with the rise in that of cooperative clients by 69.3%.
As of 1 March, the volume of deposits of physical persons in the banks increased by AZN15.630.400mln from AZN1.468.400 in January and AZN84.460.000mln in March 2007. The volume of deposits of legal entities totaled to AZN20.665.000 against AZN17.153.000mln in January and AZN12.200.500mln in March 2007.
As of March 2008, some AZN729mln of deposits of physical persons were realized in the national currency, AZN834.4mln in hard currency. Some AZN952.3mln of deposits of legal entities was realized in manats and 111.42.000 in hard currency.
