Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 April / Trend / The process of re-organizing Azerbaijani Airlines State Concern (AZAL) into a closed joint stock company is expected to be completed in May, Sabir Ilyasov, the first deputy director-general of AZAL said on 21 April.
AZAL is being re-organized due to the differentiation of commercial and regulatory functions of administration for civil aviation. These functions are divided between AZAL and State Civil Aviation Administration, Ilyasov said.
The decree by the President Ilham Aliyev on re-organization of AZAL stated that the re-organization aims at developing civil aviation to a great degree, increasing efficiency in this regard, improving aviation services and the security of flights.
The decree stated that the president, first vice-president and other vice-presidents of the closed joint stock company would be appointed or dismissed by the President of Azerbaijani Republic.
The charter and structure of the new closed joint stock company will be approved in a month.
