Kazakhstan, Astana, 23 April / corr. Trend K. Konirova/ Kazakhstan is satisfied with the results of meeting of Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Inter-Government Commission on Economic Cooperation held in Astana on 23 April, Sauat Minbayev, the minister of energy and mineral resources of Kazakhstan, said on 23 April.

According to Minbayev, co-chairman of the commission from Kazakhstan, adjustment of the state debts of Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan was discussed in the meeting held in Astana and it was mentioned that the inter-government procedures had been carried out in this regard.

"The date and venue of signing an agreement on re-payment of state debt will be fixed," Minbayev said. Azerbaijan's state debt to Kazakhstan makes up $16.9mln. The principal agreement on re-payment of debt was reached in summer 2007, during the minister of finance Samir Sharifov's visit to Astana.

There is a constructive cooperation in oil and gas sphere, he said.

"The Senate will hold a meeting on 24 April to ratify the agreement on assistance by Kazakhstan in shipping oil via BTC. Though the agreements have not been ratified, there is an intense technical work on the level of national companies of the two countries and we hope that soon there will be some progress in this regard," minister said.
