Azerbaijan, Baku, 25 April / corr. Trend U. Ismayilova/ Azerbaijan's large insurance company MBASK has collected premiums worth AZN4.7mln during the course of January to March which exceeds the figure of the same period of 2007 by 59% or AZN2.8mln.
Meanwhile, the premiums from car insurances totalled 70% (AZN3.3mln) of the total volume of premiums, insurance of estate 10% (AZN475,600) and life insurance 9.8% (AZN458,900).
The insurance payments of the company hit a record volume - AZN883,700 ($1.048) which is 37% or AZN330,300 more than the same figure of 2007.
Majority of payments were paid in line with deals on car insurance - AZN639,100 or ($758, 081).
Payments to foreigners leaving the country totaled to AZN177,900 or ($21 995), payments for insurance of responsibility before third persons - AZN26,300 or ($31 362), obligatory insurance - AZN21,200 and insurance from accidents - AZN10,300 or ($12, 407).
The average time of payments carried out in line with the deals made up two weeks since the statement on insurance event. However, if the sums are very small the payments are carried out during a shorter time.
The biggest payment of the company was carried out within the car insurance deal which made up AZN36,400.
MBASK Insurance Company has been operating in the Azerbaijan insurance market since 1992. The company offers 29 types of insurance services 4 of which are mandatory. The authorized capital stock of the company totals to AZN2mln. The EBRD has held 3% of shares of the Company since 2005.
