Alizade/ "The Azerbaijani Government is concerned about the country's inflation rate which totalled 17-18% -from January to April, 2008," Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizade said in the meeting with Boris Grizlov, chairman of the Russian Lower House (State Duma).
"Inflation growth was due to 10-fold increase in the country's money supply during the recent four years," Prime Minister said.
Rasizade stated that Azerbaijan's economics is intensively developing not only in the capital city but also in the provinces.
"Inflation rate in Azerbaijan mainly affects poor people, and in order to prevent the effect the government will allot the targeted social aid to them," he said.
According to Rasizade, presently 91,000 Azerbaijani families receive the targeted social aid.
