Azerbaijan to Participate in Inter Governmental Council Meeting on CIS Antimonopoly Policy

Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 June / Trend corr. I.Khalilova / The Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development reported that the meeting of the Inter Governmental Council on Anti Monopoly Policy of CIS countries and the 6th meeting of the Department to Investigate violations of anti monopoly legislation is being held in Kishinev from 3 to 6 June.

Samir Dadashev, the head of the State Antimonopoly Service, and his deputy, Araz Aliyev, will represent Azerbaijan at the meeting. Dadashev for the first time will take part in such a meeting as the deputy Chairman of the Council.

It is expected that the international conference "Cooperation in the sphere of competition policy", organized by the Moldovan National Agency on Competition Protection, will be held within the framework meeting.

The experience to consider and discuss issues in the Antimonopoly Council with participation of the corresponding departments of sectoral cooperation was proposed in the latest meeting. Particularly, the interaction amongst the antimonopoly organizations and Internal Ministry departments will be considered in the meeting.

The decision to develop a method to implement joint research in the telecommunication market was made. The analysis in the telecommunication market promotes research in the mobile communication market and IP-telephone.

The latest meeting was held in Baku on 20 and 21 September.

The leaders and specialists of antimonopoly organizations of CIS countries, as well as experts from the Council of Europe, Economic Cooperating and Development Organization and UN Conference on Trade and Development will participate in the meeting.

The official currency rate on 3 June was 0,82 AZN/USD.
