Investments Increase in Azerbaijani Oil Sector

Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 June / Trend corr. U.Ismayilova / About AZN 2,695,9mln has been invested in the economy of Azerbaijan over the period of January and May, an increase of over 21.7% from the figures of the last year. The private enterprises and organizations invested AZN 1,199,7mln (83.1%) and State organization - AZN 1496.2mln (94%).

The investments for the repair and construction works amounted AZN 2.6mln, an increase of 0.1%. The specific gravity of foreign investments makes up 35.9% or AZN 968.5mln. Some 54.5% fell on domestic investments, which increased by 64.1%.

64.1% or AZN 1,488,9mln was allocated for the oil sector (55.2%) and AZN 1,207mln (44.8%) - non-oil sector. The investments for the non-oil sector increased by 70.1% as compared to the same period of the last year.

Some 52.4% was invested in development of industry spheres, 2.7% - agriculture, 0.2% - trade and services, 21.8% -transport, 2.4% - communication, 5.9% -construction of buildings, 1.9% - education, 2.6% - health care and 10.1% - other spheres.

Some AZN 898.2mln was invested in construction of facilities, which made up 20.8 % of the total budget. Some AZN 4,326,3mln was invested in the state budget for 2008.

Some AZN 1,447,5mln was invested in fixed capital through enterprises and organizations, AZN 70mln - bank credits, AZN 945.6mln - budget, AZN 167mln - off-budget, AZN 64mln - private budget of population and AZN 1.8mln - other budgets.
