German Development Bank to Hire Consultant for its Project in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, 24 June / corr. Trend U.Ismayilova / Representatives of the German Development Bank (KfW) discussed the project on 'Cadastre and registration of real estate' with the Azerbaijani State Real Estate Registration, the Government said on 24 June.

During the meeting it was decided to select a consultant to develop technical task and estimate the project.

According to Arif Garashov, the head of the state organization, the Azerbaijani government and KfW were expected to sign a loan agreement on the project at the end of May, whilst it was delayed because of the definition of the project budget.

The project covers conducting systematic cadastral register in Ganja and Sheki District so that to register lands, plots and real estates. The cadastral map will include their exact coordinates on the basis of geodesic research.

The major stage of the KfW project will take 30 months to end. KfW, the German bank, expressed its readiness to allocate a € 2.5mln loan to implement the project and €1mln to institutionalize the beneficiary organization.

The Azerbaijani Government and the World Bank (WB) inked an agreement on joint introduction of the unified real estate cadastre in July 2007. The project consists of four components including the registration of real estate; management and register of the state property; basic cartography and land cadastre, training, formation of the policy and project management. The budget of the project is $38.57mln and $30mln of this sum. The loan is allocated for 20 years with 5-year grace period.
