Transnational and Vertically Integrated Company with Full Nuclear Fuel Cycle Established in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan, Astana, 22 July / corr. Trend K.Konirova / Kazatomprom, the National Atomic company (NAC) completed the formation of transnational and vertically integrated company with full nuclear fuel cycle (NFC), the company said.

"Through this way, Kazatomprom implements strategic task, which implies to build full production chain and to supply world market with uranium production with maximum added cost," press service reported.

It is planned to produce more than 9,000 tons of uranium in Kazakhstan in 2008. Uranium production will amount to 12,826 tons in Kazakhstan in 2009.

According to the data of the Strategic Marketing Department of Kazatomprom Open Joint Stock Company NAC, uranium production will amount to 11,100 tons in Canada and 9,430 tons in Australia (forecast was formed on publicized official data). In 2009 Kazakhstan may take the first place in the world among countries, which produce uranium.
