Products of Chinese Sanlu not Poses Threat for Azerbaijani Market

Azerbaijan, Baku, 9 October/ Trend , corr U. Ismayilova/ Over 10,000 children poisoned by melamine-adulterated milk, are being treated in hospitals in China. This figure was provided by the Health Care Ministry of People's Republic of China. Early reports even pointed to the death of children. On 8 October, Health Care Ministry issued rate of maximum melamine content in foodstuffs.  

On 7 October, a first suit was filed against Sanlu, whose tainted dairy produce caused mass poisoning and death of several children.

"Sanlu products do not pose a threat for Azerbaijani consumers. The monitoring in consumer market revealed no Sanlu products in counters of Azerbaijani shops," a source in a State Service for Control over Consumer Market at the Ministry of Economic Development said.
