European Central Bank chief Jean-Claude Trichet says
"there are still many things to do" to tackle the financial crisis
that has shaken markets worldwide, ap
reported.
Trichet has welcomed decisions made by the countries that use the euro at a
summit in Paris to try to encourage lending and ease the credit crunch.
Trichet said Sunday that "the force of unity that we showed today is a
fundamental element of confidence." But he added, "There are still
many things to do."
Trichet joined the leaders of the 15 euro-zone nations at Sunday's summit. The
countries agreed to guarantee bank refinancing.
