Azerbaijan, Baku, 23 October / Trend corr. U.Ismayilova, E.Ismayilov/The Akkord group of companies will put into operation the concrete part of the Baku-Guba- border of Russia highway to the end of 2008," Afag Guliyeva, a representative of the company, said.
"We have already completed 80% of works and 120km of the highway will be put into operation to the end of the year," Guliyeva stated.
The construction of the concrete part of the highway is carried out through financial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The total length of the highway is 208km; however it will be cut to 198km after the reconstruction. The construction of the concrete is being carried out from the 16km to 134km length of the highway.
The initial cost of the project is $400mln. However, the project's cost went up to $800mln later.
Twenty-one bridges and 10 road stations are planned to construct on the highway.
