Business Materials 4 November 2008 15:45 (UTC +04:00)

Azerbaijan, Ganja, 4 November / Trend , corr. V.Mammadov / The flour manufacturers started cutting the prices approximately to 7.8%-8.8% in Azerbaijan's Ganja City. The drop in prices took place due to decrease in grain prices on foreign markets, Arif Hasanov, the Director of the Neon firm, said.

According to Hasanov, the price of one ton of grain, which is purchased from Russia and Kazakhstan, is $315. This allows cutting the price for one sack of flour to AZN 17.

"We have to purchase grain from foreign markets, as no drop in prices is observed for local grain," Hasanov said.

The Fatoğlu is the largest flour producer firm in the country. The price for one sack of flour cut from AZN 17.8 to AZN 16.5.

The Araboglu firm cuts prices from AZN 18.5to AZN 17.

Despite the flour prices dropping in Azerbaijan's Ganja City, it does not affect bread costs. The cost of bread depending on its weight is between AZN 0.30 and AZN 0.40.

On 4 November, the official currency rate is 0,8097AZN/USD.
