Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 November / Trend , corr.  U.Ismayilova/" The application of "single window" principle during inspection of commodities and vehicles at check points in the state border of Azerbaijan from 1 January 2009 will cut term for customs control purposes and minimize expenses for imported commodities," Sanan Mukhtarov, the head of the juridical department of the State Customs Committee, said in his interview.

"Earlier several types of control on commodities and vehicles were used at check points that delayed the customs examining procedures. In addition, the same procedure has been done several times and vehicles had to stay for some time at check points causing the raise in prices of transport expenditures," Mukhtarov said.

The application of 'single window' system at check points of state border will enhance the attractiveness of Azerbaijan to lay Europe-Caucasus-Asia and GUAM transport corridor, as well as will promote additional opportunity to accelerate the process to join the World Trade Organization.

П Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev issued a decree on introduction of a 'single window' principle since 1 January 2009 during inspection of commodities and vehicles at state border check-points. The object of the decree is to enlarge the carrying capacity in state borders, to remove artificial obstacles during the check of commodities and vehicles and import and export operations in accordance with up-to-date requirements.
