Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 November / corr Trend U.Ismayilova / In January to September, an average sum of pension in Azerbaijan increased by 52% to AZN 95.15 as compared to similar period of 2007, the State Committee of Statistics said.
The number of pensioners totaled 1.26mln in Azerbaijan, or 313 per 1,000 people.
According to the State Statistics Committee, 66% of pensioners receive benefit for age, 23% -
disability grant and 11% - for loss of bread-winner.
According to the Social Security Fund of Azerbaijani, since the beginning of year, allowances in the amount of AZN 980mln was given to population, and it exceeds by 35.5% the indices of the similar period of 2007. Some AZN 924.3mln of them was directed at provision of pensions and 24.5% - at other social allowances.
In January to September, 625,900 people received targeted social aid (TSA) in Azerbaijan. Per capita TSA made up AZN 21.37mln.
