Azerbaijan Joins Meeting of CIS Intergovernmental Council on Agro- Industrial Complex
Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 Dec / corr Trend S.Babayeva / Azerbaijan is attending a meeting of the CIS intergovernmental council on agro-industrial complex which focuses on the discussion of joint measures in increase of food security.
Aslan Aslanov, deputy agriculture minister, will attend the meeting due in Kishinev on 5 Dec, the source at the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan said on 4 Dec.
"Aslanov will deliver a report which includes the formation of a common program on food security taking into account the local state programs and simplification of the entrance of product to the CIS market, the ministry said.
The state program on safe food supply to Azerbaijani people from 2008 to 2015 was adopted in summer 2008. The programs aims to stimulate the rise of agricultural production in Azerbaijan and to improve further providing the people with food products through local production.
The Council of CIS heads of state founded the CIS intergovernmental council on agro-industrial complex on 28 Apr 1993.
The previous meeting of the CIS intergovernmental council on agro-industrial complex was held in October in Ukraine.
