Deficit in budget of Azerbaijani Social Protection Fund because of budget organizations

Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 15 / Trend , U.Ismayilova/ "From Jan. to Oct. budget organizations owed AZN 96mln payment on obligatory social insurance the Azerbaijani State Social Protection Fund, which led to deficit in the budget of the fund," Salim Muslimov, the head of the Fund, said on Dec. 15.

"At present the fund is holding consultations with the Ministry of Finance to solve this problem," Muslimov said.

Transfers from public budget to the state fund will be cut because of deficit and they will be resumed only when budget organization pay off their debts, he said.  Muslimov expects problems with collection of assignments on obligatory insurance in 2009, as well.

A total of AZN 1.27bln of assignments have been deposited on obligatory social insurance in the budget of the fund for 2009. Moreover, collections from private sector are expected to make up AZN 35.6%, Muslimov said.

In 2009 problems with collections of assignments on obligatory insurance may be occurred basically at private sector in connection with involvement of the hired employees into payment, the head of the state fund said. The latter numbers about 30,000-40,000 people.

On Jun. 1, 1.77mln of fee payers on social insurance were registered at the state fund on individual registration system and 671,000 people of them are foreigners of 80 countries.

The exchange rate for US dollar is AZN 0.805 on Dec. 15.
