The International Financial Corporation (IFC) will hold a seminar on managing unfavorable liabilities during the global financial crisis together with the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry. The two-day course will be held on Feb. 23-24 and include information on best-banking practices adapted to the needs of the Azerbaijani banking sector. The workshop will focus on major issues of bad-debts control, both in practice and as part of developing risk management tools to control unfavorable arrears in banking portfolios. The key issues to be addressed include:
- The impact of the financial crisis on the Azerbaijani banking system; - Guarantee management;- Unfavorable liability management; - Credit-risk management;- Portfolio analysis and monitoring;- Risk rating.
The workshop will be held by Liam McMenamin and Garth Bedford.
Upon the completion of the course, the participants will take an exam to be issued certificates. Classes will be conducted in English with Russian translation.
