Growth rate of GDP in Nakhchivan AR reaches 30 percent

In 2008 GDP of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) of Azerbaijan went up by 35.5 percent compared to 2007 and reached roughly 796 million manat, permanent representation of NAR in Baku said.

In this period, 43.9 percent or 349 million manat of GDP accounted for production of goods. Extra cost production in the sphere of service made up 408 million manat (with 51.2 percent of specific weight). Net taxes from production and import made up 4.9 percent of GDP or 39 million manat.

In 2008, extra cost production in industry made up 13.8 percent of GDP (110 million manat), 13.2 percent (105.1 million manat) in agriculture, 16.9 percent (135 million manat) in construction, 3.1 percent (25 million manat) in transport, 2.3 percent (18.3 million manat) in communication and 26.3 percent (209.3 million manat) in wholesale and retail trade, repair of cars and domestic appliances.
