Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, Feb. 17 / Trend , A.Tanayev/

The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan (NBK) will soon issue a new banknote, a banking source said.

The NBK wil hold a news conference on Feb. 19 to officially announce the emission of the banknote.

"Perhaps, it will be a 5,000-sum banknote," the source said.

The largest banknote in the country is currently 1,000 sum.

"Introducing such a large nominal has nothing to do with inflation," the source said.

Kyrgyz paper money is printed in the UK.

Reports about the new banknote surfaced in 2008.

"On Feb. 18, NBK officials will hold a private meeting with law enforcement and special agency officials to prevent forgeries," the source said.
