KAMAZ to modify production for Turkmenistan

At a meeting with Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdymuhamedov, KAMAZ General Director Sergey Kogogin agreed to alter KAMAZ vehicles by reviewing the country's soil and climate, local media reported.

"Kogogin said his company will consider Turkmenistan's requirements," the Altyn Asyr television channel reported. Kokogin voiced an interest in strengthening business contacts with the country.

"KAMAZ Turkmenistan is seen as a model of reliability," Berdymuhamedov said. He added that he hopes to expand cooperation with the company on a long-term, mutually beneficial basis.

There are over 10,000 KAMAZ vehicles in Ashgabat.

The Tatar automobile company offers cargo vehicles and special equipment. According to experts, their engines meet EU safety requirements.
Turkmenistan is a sponsor of the Ashgabat-Kazan route.
