Five to six percent inflation is available for Azerbaijan

The most available level of inflation for the economy of Azerbaijan is five to six percent, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Azerbaijan, Elman Rustamov, said on Feb. 27.

"Currently the inflation in the annual calculation totals less than 12 percent, and we consider that its level will further decline. According to the forecasts, this year one figure inflation is expected in Azerbaijan. I this that the optimal level for Azerbaijan is five to six percent inflation," Rustamov said.

The Chairman of Board said that under the current economic conditions, such level of growth in the consumer prices would be available both for the population and business.

"Many factors affect the level of inflation, but firstly, it will be determined depending on the economic activity," Rustamov said.
