WB develops project to modernize Azerbaijan’s customs system

The World Bank mission will develop a project to modernize the usage of data technologies and present the document to the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan. On March 2, the mission held meetings in SCC, the WB Baku office said.
The project may be realized not only by WB, but through other donors or customs committee.
Project's term and sum will be uncovered after the Committee's analysis the project.
WB Boundary Governance, International Trade and Economic Management Department expert Thomas Doil met with SCC head Aydin Aliyev and recommended the Committee to use modern data technologies in the customs system.
Check points in Azerbaijani Customs Committee are being reconstructed. This will provide automated control over goods so that to promote trade and security.
