In the period of economic and political uncertainty in the world, the USA keeps durable partnership with Azerbaijan with regards to mutual interests, U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne E. Derse said at the meeting of Caspian Integration Business Club on March 4.
"The relations of the USA with Azerbaijan in the economic sphere have a long history," said Derse.
According to the ambassador, the energy co-operation of the two countries continues, since both countries work on the development of pipelines to export Azerbaijani and Caspian gas to the world markets.
The economic co-operation of the two countries is concentrated in two basic spheres, Derse said.
"First is our continuous support to Azerbaijan in the development of contemporary, diversified economy based on the market principles, with the strong oil sector, and also in the integration of the country into the international economic system," said Derse.
The second is to establish durable commercial relations, the ambassador said.
In the period of acceleration of economic reforms, Azerbaijan intends to develop commercial possibilities for the non-oil sector, businessmen in Azerbaijan, including entrepreneurs from the USA, Derse concluded.
