Azerbaijan, France appreciate their cooperation in economic development: minister

Azerbaijan, Baku, March 19 / Trend , N.Ismayilova/

A protocol was signed on results of the 5th meeting of the Azerbaijani-French intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.

Azerbaijani Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said Azerbaijan and France appreciate their cooperation in economic development and intend to expand it in future. At the same time, it is planned to more expand and specify opportunities of cooperation in many countries, he said.

"Today's meeting is a key indicator of cooperation and mutual interests of the two countries, because the delegation comprises many representatives of oil field, as well as construction, transport, hotel business and aeronautics fields," Sharifov said.

French Foreign Trade State Secretary Anne-Marie Idrac said that the bilateral commission has a place at a political arena which was confirmed at a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on March 19.

The second advantage is that the commission's activity focuses on different fields, including oil and gas and environmental protection, she said.

It is planned to implement an energy project which is similar with the project on burning wastes realized by the French CNIM company, Idrac said.

"Although oil and gas field is basis and core of our cooperation, we intend to develop it in other sectors, as well as implement long-term investments and apply new technology," Idrac said.
