On March 19 the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a French delegation led by Minister of State for External Trade, Co-Chair of the France-Azerbaijan Joint Economic Commission Mrs Anne-Marie Idrac, AzerTaj state news agency reported.
Mrs Anne-Marie Idrac handed over a letter from French President Nicolas Sarkozy to the Azerbaijani leader. She extended the French leader`s greetings to President Ilham Aliyev.
During the conversation, they expressed satisfaction with relations between the two countries in various fields, in particular political, economic, energy and cultural ones. They pointed out French companies` successful operations in Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani President and French Minister also touched upon the importance of the joint commission`s Baku meeting and expressed confidence the French delegation`s visit would contribute to developing the bilateral relations.
President Ilham Aliyev asked the French Minister to convey his greetings and best wishes to President Nicolas Sarkozy.
