Georgia to study joint customs control system on French-Swiss border

Georgian Finance Minister Kakha Baindurashvili has made a visit to Switzerland, the ministry said on March 20.

During the visit, the minister will hold business meetings and tour the customs control systems at the Swiss-French border where the sides jointly administer customs.

The minister will receive detailed information about transport and tourist influxes, the ministry said.

Baindurashvili will also become familiar with the system's mechanisms.

The visit was preceded by Georgia-Turkey talks on forming a joint customs control system.

Earlier, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili advised the minister to study the customs system at the French-Swiss border.
