Azerbaijani, Estonian tax agencies lay new basis for cooperation

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Taxes and the Estonian Taxes and Customs Board signed the memorandum on cooperation. The document was signed by Azerbaijani Minister of Taxes Fazil Mammadov and director general of the Estonian Taxes and Customs Board Enrico Aav in Baku.

"The sides stressed that the memorandum will give a new impetus to the process of mutual cooperation," the Ministry said.

Major goal of the Estonian delegation's visit to Azerbaijan was to familiarize with tax system. Minister informed guests about reforms held in the country. 

"The international financial organizations showed interest in Azerbaijani reforms. WB and IFC appreciated the country as reformer in 2008," Mammadov said.

The Estonian delegation got familiarize with work to improve tax administration and apply IT in the country. 

The board's director general stressed interest in studying experience of Azerbaijan in introduction of deposit account on VAT system.

Guests will familiarize with "single window" system introduced for state registration of entrepreneurship individuals within the visit in the department of special tax regime service.  

The Estonian side will hold presentation of structural reforms in the tax and customs board, x-road projects and E-audit.
