The Azerbaijani-Russian Chambers of Business Cooperation to hold a meeting in Baku on May 12, Russian Trade representative in Baku Yuriy Shedrin said.
"The meeting will discuss the development of bilateral relations, as well a newly appointed Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin will be acquainted with the leadership of the Azerbaijani-Russian Chambers," Shedrin said.
Over 550 Russian companies are operating on Azerbaijan's market, including 167 with 100 percent Russian capital, 237 joint ventures and etc. There are 54 Azerbaijani Russian joint ventures in Russia, over 700 companies, which are managed by Azerbaijanis, and over 3,000 private companies.
The Russian Government is keeping a positive dynamic of the Azerbaijani-Russian trade turnover of 2008. Last year, the trade turnover between the countries increased by 42.5 percent to $2.402 billion.
The trade turnover between Russia and Azerbaijan will be on the level of 2008. The figure may rise to $2.5 billion.
Russia's export to Azerbaijan in 2008 hit $ 1.991 million (growth by 42.6 percent in 2008) and import - $401.4 million (+25.4 percent).
