The Transport and Communications Ministry of Kazakhstan is ready to attract Italian companies to participate in such ambitious projects as the construction of an international transit corridor Western Europe - Western China, Vice Minister Dulat Kuterbekov said at a meeting with Italian delegation, the Ministry's press service reported.
"The main topic of meeting was the possibility of participation of Italian companies in projects of the transport industry. Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Alfredo Mantica said that a number of Italian companies are already involved in Kazakh projects," the press release said.
The Italian Todini Central Asia is among of those Italian companies involved in Kazakhstan. The company is occupied in reconstruction of the Karabatan-Dossor section of the Atyrau-Aktau highway, as well as Astana-Shucinsk motor road.
"The sides have considered an increasing exchange of quota for international road transport. The sides agreed on 300 quotas. Kazakhstan's need in quotas exceeds that figure more than three times to 1,000 quotas ", the press release said.
The civil aviation needs flights between the two countries through signing of a memorandum on mutual understanding between the Kazakh Transport and Communications Ministry and Italian Infrastructure and Transport Ministry on air communications.
If the memorandum is signed, then the Air Astana airline company is planning to open the Aktau-Milan-Aktau flight.
Mantica promised to take control over the discussed issues and assist their implementation.
