Russia wants to see CIS's further development: Vice PM

Russia would like to see the further development of the CIS, Russian Vice Prime Minister of the CIS Council of Heads of Governments Igor Shuvalov said in Astana today.

"The Commonwealth of Independent States is a very useful format and it could get further impetus for development. Crisis that we are all going through, forcing us to actively cooperate with our partners not only for the EurAsEC, but also for CIS," Shuvalov said.

During its presidency in CIS next year, Russia will form a new economy not only within the framework of the Customs Union, EurAsEC, but the CIS as whole, he added.

Shuvalov also informed about anti crisis EurAsEC fund, as well as the Eurasian Development Bank.

"We will take efforts in this direction during our presidency in the organization next year," Shuvalov said.
